Our Story

WHO WE ARE

Ukca Foundation is a relief and development Charity, operating mainly in Africa (Uganda). We believe that helping to preserve an individual life is the equivalent of preserving the life of all humankind. We provide immediate care/relief to our clients whilst focusing on long-term solutions that will advance their welfare. We work tirelessly in search of solutions that are sustainable to make immediate and lasting improvements.
To take care of Orphans and people in extreme poverty/need is an important part of social welfare and a highly rewardable act. We hope our efforts and sacrifices to be there in someone’s time of need; will reap immense rewards.
Ukca Foundation believes in respecting diversity, especially in the sense of differences of culture; color, and belief. We were made into diverse nations and tribes so that we may know one another. Our key terms are Equity, Justice, Honesty, and Patience. These we use to ensure equal opportunity for everyone.
Ukca Foundation provides aid, relief, and development in a dignified manner irrespective of race, age, gender, color, class, ethnicity, disability, location, and religion. We believe that every child/person, anywhere, has the right to a happy, safe, and healthy lifestyle. We share the vision for a better world for all children/people. The world where all children/people are safe, survive, learn, develop, and thrive in their lives.

OUR ROLE TO HUMANITY

Ukca Foundation believes in kind words and forgiveness than charity followed by insult. We do not pick inferior things to give away, when we would not receive them, except with closed eyes. We extend unconditional love to our own species. This helps us forget our selfish interests at times when others need our help. We focus on personal/group potential, choose to love, forgive, show compassion, treat everyone as equals, and love everyone as we would our parents, brothers and sisters. We foster social justice, equality, and empathy. We do not ask for thanks or gratitude. We provide to thank and ask for forgiveness and guidance. Mankind is diverse with a responsibility to care for each other. The foundation is driven by Orphan/poor people’s plight and our role is to work with them to find ways to live a better life. Through prayer, we work patiently and tirelessly toward the vision of a world where poverty and suffering are a thing of the past. Where parents/adults can aid children and give them a chance to grow up and live in dignity, independence, and freedom. We are positive you share our passion for a fairer world and that you will continue to support the work we do now and in the future.

OUR STRATEGY

Ukca Foundation’s strategic plan offers humanitarian services. Our priorities for all our clients are clear. We want them to have the ability to care for themselves and live the same life as we are. We believe that through Education; (theory and practical), there shall be individual as well as community improvements. We aim to enable our clients to stand up and work for themselves for a better life. We work with partners to pursue significant, measurable reductions in human suffering caused by poverty. We are dedicated to tackling the root causes of poverty and passionate about working beyond the provision of immediate relief, towards supporting those in need and communities over the long term. This can only be achieved by teaching ourselves/our clients to fish/work instead of feeding them. We believe in small changes that will make a bigger change. We use what is in our means and the support we get to help the poor and vulnerable. Our open system with complete honesty, aims to bring back confidence in people who want to help others. We are transparent, and our supporters and the public can see what we do, when, how, where, and the benefits our clients receive. We believe that working together shall create a caring world where poverty and suffering have been overcome. Where all children are given the chance to grow up and live in dignity, independence, and freedom. Where social obligations are fulfilled, and people respond as one to the suffering of others. Giving something back to the community is significant and a must for Ukca Foundation. We care and feel that children and people in desperate poverty/need should not face pain, fear, and hardships.

Transparency

Ukca foundation is a registered non-profitable organization that is transparent and open to scrutiny. We want the public to know about our work and how and where we do it. This is because we work with some of the most vulnerable people. We stand out firmly for justice; even though it, be against ourselves, parents, kin, rich or poor. We follow not the lusts (of our hearts), lest we may avoid justice. Since our humble beginnings, we respond to emergencies whilst establishing long -term projects. We support livelihoods through feeding, education, health care, shelter and run orphan sponsorship schemes, offer financial support to orphanage families, and advocate. We have built up a network of national/international relations providing a wealth of skills and experience in supporting those most vulnerable and in need. We remain committed to helping those in crisis and empowering local communities over the long- term.

CARING FOR THOSE WITHOUT A VOICE

Poverty is an outrage against humanity. It robs us of power over our own lives, our dignity, freedom, and hope. Ukca foundation believes that in life, Fear, Hunger, Loss of lives, and crops are all tests. Those who patiently work together and endure will succeed. We are inspired by hope and act to change an unjust world through charity and hard work. We are more than determined to succeed and to show the importance of togetherness in helping orphans and people in desperate poverty/need, many of whom have no voice.  There are so many orphans /people in desperate need who cannot get help because of where they live (in the suburbs/villages) and we are desperate and determined out for reach them. Therefore, we will never give up and will strive hard to give something back to our communities. Ukca foundation is mandated to work on relief, development, and advocacy for poverty eradication.

The board members are unpaid volunteers who govern the charity and meet periodically. We are honest, transparent, and accountable at all levels for the effectiveness of our work. We are open to judgments and communications with others. The only biases we have is being in solidarity with the poor, powerless, and excluded in our commitment to the fight against poverty and corruption. We are bold and innovative without fear of failure in pursuit of making the greatest possible impact on the lives of Orphans and people in extreme poverty/need. It does not matter how many times we fail; we shall always stand up and try again. We shall learn from our mistakes. We are independent of any religious or political party. We are professional in our behavior, recognizing that we are part of a wider alliance against poverty. The reality is that there are millions of Orphaned children and people experiencing extreme poverty in our world today. They deserve nothing less than our greatest efforts. Our responsibility is to bring back hope and a smile on their faces.
