Every single human is unique and deserves equal access to HUMAN BASIC needs (Food, Shelter, Healthcare, Education and Freedom).

Why Orphans

We have staggering numbers of children in Uganda/worldwide that have lost one or both parents(Orphans). Additionally, some children without parental care may/may not be Orphans.
The major causes are natural disasters, Accidents, corruption, poverty, abandonment and lack of resources, inadequate education facilities, People’s attitude to work leading to no development, and the speed at which our economy is growing. We all have a job to do, not only the government. We all know that Orphans/children who live in poverty are more likely to have a poor diet, not have enough to eat, and not be able to attend school. They are also more likely to live in cramped conditions that lead to increased stress. The situation is so alarming that we are at a stage where orphaned children are in the care of their siblings. Regardless of the cause, the results are always the same. Both groups are associated with cultural pressures, neglect, abuse, child slavery, religious inequity, and child prostitution. Orphans are the most vulnerable and marginalized group in our world.
The sad reality though, is that if a good and caring person is not there to provide what they need, who is? Very bad-minded people.
The end result is heartbreaking as many of the orphan children out there will die of: starvation and issues related to malnutrition, from preventable diseases, at the hands of others and themselves. They will spend much of their life in jail, do harm to themselves, others and negatively impact the world.
Ukca Foundation’s responses and actions are driven by the status of Orphans, abandoned children, and people in desperate poverty/need. We act with fresh insight that allows for clients’ Physical, Psychological, and Social uplift, a process solely brought about by our interaction with them.
Ukca Foundation shall not oppress orphans nor repulse beggars. Instead, we shall provide them with what they need to thrive, not just survive. We believe we shall break the cycle that creates Orphans in the first place. We will be grateful for the fact that we did not abandon our own (humans) but instead raised them in a healthy and loving environment. This will result in less crime, less disease, and fewer orphan children to take care of. Whatever religion we practice or are just caring person who loves humanity, we must recognize our responsibility to humans and all children of the world, especially Orphans/those without parental care. There is no greater impact we can have on the future of our planet than we shall; by caring for our greatest resource; the innocent and deserving children who have been left to suffer.

In Uganda, Orphans/Children without parental care often end up living with relatives and neighbors, on the streets and in the slums. There are many situations where they live with an ill and very old relative that loves but cannot care for them because they also need care.
Ukca Foundation firmly believes that excellent care for all children is a good act and a priority for Mankind. Providing them with good care does not stop there; it spreads to them! Instead of harming themselves and others, they will grow-up as responsible, healthy adults and give back to the community.
Ukca Foundation’s goal is to care for Orphans as a child living in a traditional family in an average safe community. We treat all children as our own- with care, love, and respect. We shall not abandon them and leave them to ill-willed people who want personal gains. The sad reality is that orphans/children without parental care are easy targets for organized gangs. We all know of charity organizations where Orphans were neglected/ill-treated despite the funding received. The authorities must inspect the places of care for Orphans and make sure they have good intentions. People who are passionate, dedicated, and ready to provide quality, honest, diverse, and excellent care.

MONITORING ORPHANS BEHAVIOUR

Ukca foundation safe house encourages respect and good honest behaviors and behavioral support is a frequent need among orphans we care for. We get involved in children’s daily activities to keep them busy. We talk to them, walk with them to School, we say good morning to people we come across, and we teach them the three magic words (Thank you, Sorry, and Please) for good polite behavior. The children in Ukca foundation shelter feel loved and cared for and are well-behaved. Our hands-on involvement is aimed at teaching them good manners and avoiding the likelihood of them taking risks such as running away and engaging in dangerous and criminal activity.

ORPHAN RELATIONSHIPS

Ukca Foundation shelters a small number of Orphans and has put in measures for them to avoid social attachment issues. We don’t want them to be over-friendly with people
who they hardly know, but to form healthy friendships. They go to school and interact well with their peers. When they are back, we watch them all the time, Talk to them, work
together, play games, sing, dance, etc. We have a very low turnover of employed key workers. This allows our clients to form healthy trusting and successful attachments.
Ukca Foundation members of staff are dedicated and passionate people who work hard to incite real change in the lives of Orphans/people in desperate need.
What Ukca Foundation offers to society; is helping fight against broken systems, giving Orphans/people in desperate need a chance to stand on their feet. We are lucky doing
this type of work because it doesn’t just make us feel good and give us a sense of purpose.
